Went for a walk around the wharfs in Hobart early yesterday morning trying to take some interesting black and white shots and I think I got a few. The light was quite interesting though with some early morning fog. Here’s one shot looking across the river to where you can normally see the other side quite clearly.

/ May 13, 2012I’m not sure what the photograph is about, through I do like the slight ruffling of the water and the endless horizon.

/ May 13, 2012Its really just one of a series of snapshots I took when I went for a walk along the wharfs one morning while visiting Hobart. Just wanted to capture the atmosphere of the place.

/ May 13, 2012This’s a discussion, not a criticism – did you take shots with less in them, or less square on to the shoreside components? I certain get the deserted, early morning chill breeze, the stillness and fog-deadened silence, but the piece isn’t talking to me, the way I would have expected, from so much of your other works. š

/ May 13, 2012Unfortunately I only had about 10-15 minutes free before I had to get to a meeting so the shots were a bit rushed as I wanted to see as much as possible.
I will post another shot that, although it was hurried, I like some elements of it but am not sure about the whole photo. This one will be a straight out of the camera black and white jpg, not cropped or processed in any other way.
